Apprentice Plant Mechanic (f/m/d)

What does a plant mechanic do?

During the training, skills and knowledge are taught in welding technology, plant engineering, apparatus and tank construction, pipe system technology and maintenance. You will learn which material to use for which purpose and how workpieces and components are manufactured. You will also learn how to plan work processes and subtasks, taking into account economic and scheduling requirements, how to obtain order-specific information and how to check and implement this information.

You will be involved in the production of individual parts for pressure chambers and submarines as well as entire chamber systems with different requirements.

Training duration:

The duration of the training is 3 1/2 years. The training takes place directly in the company in Cuxhaven throughout the entire training period. During the first year of training, you will attend vocational school 2 days a week, then once a week from the 2nd year onwards.

Requirements:

A plant mechanic must be able to calculate lengths, areas, volumes and angles – for this he needs good math skills, especially in geometry. In addition, prospective apprentices should be well versed in physics in order to be able to determine material properties such as load-bearing capacity or ductility. Apart from that, we expect a high level of technical-practical understanding, spatial thinking skills and the necessary language skills. We expect the ability to work in a team and conscientiousness.
